Ok, so I'm another first-time traveller to this area and I'm really having a hard time deciding where I should start. I will have all of January off work and that's when I'm going, and so far my alternatives are the following:
-(part of) Argentina, with Iguazu Falls and Paraguay, maybe even Uruguay if it's not too rushed
-Chile, with a brief visit to Argentina (which part of Chile is more interesting, north or south of Santiago?)
-Ecuador, with some time spent in Peru (which place there, easily accessible from E, would be the most recommended?)
So maybe you could help me by telling which one would you choose and why, or if you would
change/add something and why... What I'm most interested in is beautiful nature and towns with rich culture life and history, safety is an issue of course (I'm a lone female if that makes any difference anywhere) as well as budget (although I don't think any of these places are so expensive that it would be out of the question), and I would also like to know what the weather is like at that time of the year.
Also, does anyone know of a good website about bus timetables and prices, particularly in Argentina
and Chile?
