Seeing the Ballet in Rome or Milan - [Kathleen]
I am in Washington, D.C. and I plan to travel to Rome in the Fall (late October or November) and I want very much to see a performance of the ballet; however, I do not have any information on the season schedule or what other cities may present ballet companies or how to reserve a ticket for an event. Can you help?
I will be glad to return the favor by helping out anyone with a question about visitng my home town of Washington, D.C.!
Thank you.

Dear Kathleen I'm not very much into Ballet but I
know the Teatro La Scala of Milano (the most renowned italian theatre for lyrics and ballet) has a website and on-line information about the season and a ticket office at the address https://lascala.milano.it/
You may also want to check https://www.spoletofestival.net less traditional but worth and in a marvellous town (Spoleto in Umbria). This year is from June 30 to July 16. Some say it's getting worst (but some always say that!). Anyway I think it's always a beautiful event and a wonderful place to be.
(You would find more contemporary music-ballet though!)
Rome Opera theatre is not that good even though is getting better and may be worth a visit now.
If I come to know anything else I'll write you again, I've been a bit confusing but I'm in a hurry, got to go now! ;-)
Have a nice holyday in Italy! (my country)
Ciao
Oblo

Mille Grazie, Oblo! - [Kathleen O'Leary]
Thank you so very much for replying to my request to learn more about the opera. Yes, I did believe I would have to travel to Milan to Theatro LaScala but it would be worth the trip to take a train to go there for a performance, or even to arrange my travels to fly home from Milan.
Now, if you could only tell me how to locate a gentleman and dear friend formerly with the Italian Navy whom I met in San Francisco, California (USA) in 1966 who was a sailor on the sommergibili Morosini and whose family formerly lived in (Lainette) Milan, so I might write to him and see him again after all these years, I would be so happy I'd jump through my computer screen to hug you.
Thank you again, Oblo! And don't forget -- I offer you my return favor of information about Washington, D.C. if you so seek it.
Kathleen
