Hiking in Corsica (Fr) - [Ramingo]
Hi,
this summer I'm going to Corsica and I know there are a lot of wonderful mountains there. So I’d like to spend a few days hiking, but I haven’t find any info: could anyone suggest me the best place for a 5 days trekking?
We have got a tent, so we don’t need refuges.
We are going there in August, if anyone likes to join us is welcome.
Ramingo.

Corsica hiking - [Jackie]
Hi Ramingo - I haven't been to Corsica, but my parents are planning on going in Sept 99. Anyhow, I found two hiking guides for them: (1)the 'Footpaths' guide to Corsica which I got from borders.com and (2) Sunflower Books out of the UK has a series called 'Landscapes of..' and I know there is one of Corsica. The first looks good for the long-distance trails. The second, I haven't actually seen, but I have seen the Portugal versions(where we are off to in sept)...it looks more organized to day-hikes with the use of a car. The Sunflower Books one I got through www.adventuroustraveler.com where you might also find some other resources.
Good luck and have fun!

Thank you - [Ramingo]
Hi Jackie,
Thank you for your tips, I’ve also found out that the Lonelyplanet guide of Corsica has a very big section dedicated to trekking.
I’m going there the day after tomorrow and I’ll be back before the end of August: then, if you are going there in September and you want to, I’ll give you some suggestions.
Thank you again
Bye

I'm back - [Ramingo]
Thanks for your tip!
Unfortunately I was already in Corsica when you wrote it, so I missed the glacier.
But I did a great 5 days trekking in the central part of Corsica...
Thank you
Bye bye
