 Cheap Flying

In this section we collected some advice for flying with as less money as possible. We avoided the sea of proposals for "frequent fliers" (for which we advise you the site Webfyer), to focus on the occasions for those who do not travel so often for work, but only when it is possible, for their holidays.
Any new "trick" or advise you could point out, we will be glad to add to this page.

Low cost flying companies.

They offer travels at very much reduced prices than traditional companies, and they can do so, strictly reducing the service costs, both on earth and in flight. For this reason, flight services are very simple, and very often you can buy the ticket only by a credit card. Here is the list of the lines which offer this service.
If you know any other not in this list, please inform us.

Flying as a courier.

Many express courier companies very often need to send something abroad very quickly, avoiding the slow cargo lines and using the passenger airlines. In this case, instead of asking their own employees, (for whom they should pay ticket and extra work), they prefer to provide interested travellers with the possibility of a very cheap ticket.
The discount goes from 50% to 90% and the "Improvised courier" is not responsible for what he is carrying.
The negative aspects of this are essentially two:

  • you can't choose the leaving date, but you must catch the occasion (which not easily agrees with your holidays).
  • Anything you need should be put in your hand baggage, but sometimes the discount is so big that it becomes anyway cheap to buy what you need at the arrival.

I have never experimented this way of travelling myself, though I'm thinking of doing it as soon as possible. Down below you will find the list of these companies; (they also offer some "last minute" flight, so you should find the right page among the others). Have a nice trip!
