There are many companies that offer free space in the Internet and their number is every day increasing. They get money opening a little advertisement window when someone visits your site.
Often also your Internet provider may offer you some free web space, this way you can avoid the advertising window, but you will loose your space and have to change address if you change provider.
Here we list some of the most known companies from which you can get some free web space.
Conditions and opportunities are different, so we suggest you to check out the different proposals to get the best one for your site. It seems that the most popular are:
Geocities, xoom e Tripod.
Before choosing remember visiting som of the site hosted to check the speed of connection, whilst you shouldn't worry too much about the amount of space you'll dispose of: it's continually increasing, and also remember that you can build your site half on a server and half on another one... For instance you can store the pictures on a server that offers you a lot of space and have the site on another one that gives you more opportunities in other fields.
Note:
As we said above your provider offers you free web space, but all that glitters is not gold: it may easily happen that, if your site is a successful one, they'll close it because "it generates too much trafic in the server". So you should controle if among conditions there is a monthly trafic limit, in that case apply to one of the above said "communities" with banner: in those one the more trafic you generate the happier they are!
